Happy 4th of July!

Tyler has been wanting to add more accessories to the treehouse for a while and the other night he got to work.  He drilled holes in this old wagon we picked up off the side of the road,(the wheels were broken) and tied some rope through them.  Now it works perfectly and swings really well.
Austin and Blake can both sit in it but Austin wanted to get out and push Blake.  And that is fine with me!
Tyler pulled out the ceiling fan in our bedroom that was 100's of years old (Ok, maybe 50) and took the pulley from it and hooked it up to the treehouse! Now Austin can pull his bucket up and down with no hassle.

The boys were excited to be in our annual 4th of July parade at my friend's house.  We brought their bikes and decorated them for about a half hour and then got all the kids onto the street in front of her house and they went down and back.
I told Blake to show me his crazy face.
You can see some Turbo Fire coming out the back.  He's going really fast.
 Just about the start!
Of course we had to get a picture of everyone before we let them loose.
 And we're off!
We even had some confetti to throw at the kids as they went down the street. That was pretty fun.
This is Austin's best friend Makayla.  She is one tough girl. She's pulling her brother in the wagon and pedaled the entire way!

After that we did some furniture shopping, took a nap, the went to a BBQ and pool party at a friend's house that was DELICIOUS! Then after that we drove out to Granbury and parked near the lake and watched the fireworks with a few other families.  Tyler was a trooper and had to go to work today. I'm beat!

Secrets Out

We're having a baby!  This is how big my stomach was at 11 weeks! Yikes. I guess that's just what a 3rd kid belly will do to you.  Now I'm 13 weeks and slightly bigger.  We keep joking there must be twins in there.  Either that or my Big Blake (9lbs 1 oz) Baby sure made a lot of room in my tummy for the next one.  Either way this pregnancy and belly have been different than with my boys so maybe it's a girl???!!! Who knows! I'll take it either way.

Fire Station Tour

We saw a lot of different parts of the Fire Station...such as the kitchen area, living area, sleeping area and so on...but of course the trucks were the best part for these boys!
Blake kept saying, "I want to drive!"

They said each truck costs $1,000,000.00.  They get to design every little piece of the truck down to the nitty gritty stuff! Wouldn't that be fun?
The firemen guiding us around were so patient and so kind with a bunch of 3 year olds and under.  They got a good workout lifting everyone in and out of the truck.
It was pretty hot out in the garage for so long so they let the boys turn on the hose and spray it and practice putting out fires.
Then out of nowhere a fully decked out firemen showed up and let the kids look over his gear and try it on.  Blake made a new friend.
 The helmet was pretty heavy!
Just look at all those gadgets! This would keep them busy for months!

My Running Shrine

A good friend of mine showed me her Running Shrine one time when I was at her house and I instantly knew I needed one! For my birthday last year tyler gave me this piece of scrap wood to get me started.  Now just over a year later it is finished!!! I love it!
It holds all of my racing bibs and metals I've received from all the races I've run. It's pretty awesome having them out in the open now rather than stowed away in a box.

Summer Heat is in Full Swing

It's REALLY hot here in Texas.  Thankfully the heat didn't really come on until now.  But I still wasn't ready for it.  We have taken a few trips to Granbury(40 min. drive) to go to the Granbury Lake.  It's been really fun for the kids.  They have a nice beach area with imported sand and a gradual slope into the water.
Austin loves going way out and swimming around with his life jacket.
I have to keep a close eye on Blake because he does like to walk out as far as he can until the water gets up to his chin and then he tries to turn around and come back. AGH!
Austin loves turning into a crocodile or a shark and scaring the girls!  He's always got his claws out.
Endless hours of fun.  If only the water were 10 degrees cooler!
Canoe is lookin' good on that truck!
Playing in the back under the canoe.
Tyler built this wall around our fire pit.  I think it looks so cute!! Kind of like the base of a wishing well! Way to go Tyler! And he used the bricks from another spot in our yard so it cost us nothing.

My Birthday Bash!

This has been the best birthday ever!!! My two best friends (Since I was 5 years old) came to visit me in Texas. We had been talking about us all getting our families together for the past year and it finally came through on my Birthday weekend.
And of course we took them to the Stockyards to get a taste of the Texas feel.
I always love our pictures together since we all have a different hair color.
Thank goodness all of our husbands get along.  (At least we hope they do :)  This is Lyette's little guy Cedric (Ced Stud), and her husband Kurt.  We all ended up marrying tall skinny guys! Kinda funny.
This is Sara's son Jonah.  He is a busy body!
 He loved the rain
The weather was so strange this time of year.  We got poured on and it was much cooler this time of year than it has been in the past few years.  But we were NOT complaining!
Austin riding the bull at the Stockyards
 After the cattle drive
I think he needs a pony!
 Looks like a natural
Blake got along well with Sara and Lyette
Wait just a minute while I put my spur on...
They cooked me a delicious Sunday Steak BBQ meal for my birthday!!! And put up decorations.  It was a fun day!
Pictures are a little out of order. This was also at the stockyards.  Baby Ced didn't like getting close to the horse. Look at that face! He let out a shrill cry right after this.
 Taking his first ride
My delicious ice cream birthday cake made by Lyette!
Austin and Blake even got presents from Grandma Hair!
 Thanks Grandma!
Sara is very animated with her book reading and Blake just ate it up.
We went down to Benbrook Lake to try out the canoe.
Down by the banks of the hanky panky...
 Cheetoh Addict...oops...I mean I am.
It was so fun eating lunch on the tailgate!
Rocky beach. Austin and Blake loved throwing rocks in!
 Canoe time!
When it was their turn...Kurt was the last to go in and as he sat down the canoe rocked and tipped over! Lyette was on her back with the baby on top of her and thankfully neither of them went under since the water was so shallow! Cedric sure didn't like that, but we all got a good laugh out of it!

 Sara entertaining my boys!
Blake pushing Jonah in the Jeep
Our fun trip came to an end! It was so fun staying up after the kids went to bed and playing games and eating ice cream.  Our lives sure have changed a lot since having kids.  But we feel like our friendship is still the same even after all these years! Love these girls!
