Thanksgiving!

Tyler's parents and little sister came to our house for Thanksgiving! They arrived Wednesday evening and then we woke up bright and early to run the Turkey Trot 5K.  Jane and Amanda were good sports to run with me.
The dinner turned out great! We brined our Turkey and made real stuffing, which was delicious...the only thing that didn't turn out were my rolls. Oh well! Here's grandpa and Blake enjoying some pie and ice cream.

 Relaxin'
 Storytime!
We took them to the stockyards for the cattle drive.  Jane was so excited until she found out it was only a handful of cows and it was the same cows every time. She thought it was the real deal. oops!

Aunt Amanda is soooo much fun
We also went to the Botanical Gardens.  On the way we spotted a twig...I mean a bug that looked like a twig!!! It was awesome! Austin had to get up close.

 Daddy can't see!

 Playing some frisbee
I can't get over how cute his Wrangle Butt is...

It was sad to see them go but we are soooo happy they made the 11 hour car ride to see us!

A few weeks back Chris and Janelle (Tyler's brother and his wife) came to visit us for a quick weekend trip and we went to the TCU vs. Kansas game.  Austin was sooooo excited to see them and had so much fun playing in the backyard with everyone.  Austin had a great time doing slow motion football in the stands during the football game.  We'll have to get that on video.  It was so fun to have them here and to play with the boys.  The visit was way too fast! We hope to see them again soon!

We went to Nancy's house to ride horses a few weeks back.  My friend Karen who is an amazing photographer captured this photo! Isn't it AWESOME!!!! I'm framing it and putting it up in his room.  It is my favorite picture of him.
 He couldn't get enough!
Blake definitely had enough! We just walked in a small circle with him crying...at least he had his first horse ride right?
These boys have way too much fun together!
I pulled out a shirt I got from my grandma after she died.  She handmade this western style shirt and it fits me perfect!! It's so fun to wear her clothing and remember her and what an awesome grandma she was.  I hope she is happy that I am wearing it now.

Blast From the Past

So my awesome friend Lyette has been posting on her blog something everyday that she is thankful for until Thanksgiving...I'm sure you've seen people doing that.  Well today she wrote how thankful she was for 2 old friends! I couldn't have put it better.  Click the link below for a Blast from my Past with my two best friends!

a SNEAK PEAK

Trick or Trot

Nov. 3 Tyler, Cynthia, and I ran the Trick or Trot 5K.  Costumes were welcomed!  Cynthia asked me at the end of July if I would help her train to run a 5K.  She has never run long distance before.  Since training people is my passion I said YES! We ran at 5am in the morning 2 to 3 times a week since the beginning of August and she accomplished her goal!!!
I ran with her since I remember how hard my first 5K was.  She did so great and didn't stop to walk once which was her goal! If you are wondering, she didn't run with the Angry Bird costume on...that would have been way too hard.
It was a nice hot Saturday morning! Thank you Tyler for pushing the kids in a stroller! He didn't run but maybe twice since August and he came in first in the stroller division!
